Media Companies Make Late Push Against Ad Tax

While the article focuses on the impact on major media companies if this deal goes through, I am concerned about the hit advertising budgets will take in general, reducing the spend on creative. Not good.

“The last thing big media companies want is a change in the tax code that would make advertising more expensive…The industry’s lobbyists are trying to avoid that scenario as Republicans prepare to unveil tax-reform legislation.

“The proposal being considered would allow marketers…to deduct only half of advertising costs immediately…The rest of the expense would spread out over five years.”
